Class 2 Letters to Santa

Dear Santa,
I hope you are well. Are your elves busy? I love Christmas because I go to other people’s houses.  This year I hope I receive a cuddle buddy, a little teddy bear, a necklace, a pair of scissors and the mole Sylvanian family.
Love from,
Charlotte

Roller Skating

Skidding round corners,
Going through doors,
Going to trouble,
When Maslow adores.
Feeling bumps,
Feeling lumps,
The wind in my face,
When no, I said no, no tied lace.

Change

By Sharon Li               Class 7

In the world we live in, things are changing every day. The weather is sometimes hot and sometimes cold. The cities are sometimes busy and sometimes sleepy. No one can promise what the future will hold, whether it is good or bad. All we know is that the world is changing. WE are changing. Our world is our home and what happens to the Earth happens to us.

The weather is always different, natural disasters are happening all the time. Storms, hurricanes, tsunamis and tornados destroy the homes of many. Smog covers cities and rubbish litters the streets. The cause of all this is climate change.

We all know that we are the main cause of climate change but not everyone tries reducing our carbon footprint. It doesn’t take much to make a difference in our world. Simply turning the lights out after you have left the room, recycling cans after you are done with them and walking more often instead of driving. There are probably countless times you have heard that but small things like recycling just one aluminium can will save the energy equivalent to three hours of television. One person can make a huge impact on our world, our generation and the generation to come.

Our world is a beautiful place full of fresh air, greenery and blue skies. But we humans have been taking it for granted and the world as we know it is changing rapidly. So next time you take a stroll down the path, a jog in the park or just admire the garden from your deck, stop and think; what can I do to make the world a better place?

What if all this disappeared? What would happen?

The world as we know it is changing, and it is our responsibility to change it into a cleaner, happier environment. Who knows? Maybe our Earth really will become a much cleaner, greener and fresher place to live in, for people all around the world.

Open Morning
The Open Morning was a great success, complete with a concert put on by the students. There were various solo pieces played by students on their musical instruments, doing an awesome job.  Dance, song and drama were seen, showing off the talents of our students!  Many of the parents that attended said they thoroughly enjoyed it and so did the students.  It was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their abilities, so well done!

Class Concerts
Years 5-8 have had their class concerts, with students showing off their musical abilities!  We had pianos, violins, harp and more.  Everyone did a great job and played brilliantly.

Class 2 play ‘Spirit’
Class 2 recently performed the play ‘Spirit’, their first play!!!  They all did extremely well, working together and building confidence.  The children all memorized their lines perfectly and performed like stars!

“KING MIDAS”

A Play presented by CLASS 4

Zack as Apollo receives the laurel wreath

Matthew Hudson as King Midas

The  cast of “King Midas”

The Class 4 Play of King Midas on Wednesday was the culmination of weeks of work from Mrs Roscoe, Mrs Preston, the parents and of course the children.   The final performance was flawless with the children speaking clearly and with excellent expression.    Learning lines and then performing in such productions provides a unique opportunity for teamwork and developing confidence.  Class 4 already look a more united and mature group following the experience.
